Writing, scholarship, and ideas that shape my work.
Across my career, my scholarship has grown alongside my roles in higher education. I began in the laboratory, publishing scientific papers and abstracts that taught me how to ask good questions and follow evidence wherever it leads. That curiosity eventually expanded beyond the sciences and into the classroom, the campus, and the wider academic community. It inspired me to create Innovations in Education, a television talk show (now archived on YouTube) where I interviewed educators and leaders about ideas that were reshaping teaching and learning. Over time, my focus shifted toward the systems that make higher education work, leading me to write white papers on institutional effectiveness, leadership, and organizational culture. That work ultimately set the stage for my recent book, which brings together lessons from decades across multiple institution types and roles. The through-line is simple: a commitment to understanding how people learn, how institutions evolve, and how thoughtful leadership can help both flourish.
